Described as “absolutely brilliant” by BBC Radio, singer – songwriter Annie Bonsignore is a multi award – winning, genuine triple threat. This singer, songwriter, and pianist recently completed her third studio album, “ Durban Girl ”, with famed producer Fred Mollin (Billy Joel, BB King) in Nashville, released Apr il 2018 , and most recently released the hit Christmas single “Take My Letter Up To Santa” in 2019. The South African native was born to a large musical family of 7 children, and has been composing music since 8 and singing professionally by 10.
She’s since had a broad career performing and song – writing both here and internationally. Bonsignore has released two critically praised (BBC and CBC) self – produced albums of original works: S hades of Red (2014) , and Be Careful What You Wish For (2016). Bonsignore’s many accolades include: Toronto Independent Music Award (Finalist, 2017), a Newmarket Jazz Festival Fan Choice Award (Winner, 2017), The Hogtown Hang Fan Choice Award (Winner, 2015), Q107’s Vocal Contest Winner, Coca – Cola Pop Stars (Finalist), as well as South African Idol (Finalist).
She’s also been featured regularly on BBC Radio, CBC Radio including guest interviews on Fresh Air & Big City Small World, The Drew Marshall Show , Snap’d Magazine, BID Magazine , allnaturalmusic.com , and more. Since moving to Toronto in her 2001, she’s been a regular part of the TD Toronto Jazz Festival , Oakville Jazz Festival, Newmarket Jazz Festival , Royal Botanical Gardens Summer Concert Series, and the International Beaches Jazz Festival.
