After teasing his new “Restless” project at the start of 2022, the Southern Ontario country artist is ready to launch his first single from the project and it sounds like he’s bringing the heat heading into the summer months. Matt Teed leans into his trademark pop vocal set but brings a new edge to his raspy tone, matching some new wave rock elements in an otherwise pop-heavy country track.

Matt pulls inspiration and good vibes from the classic Matthew McConaughey performance in Dazed & Confused – adopting the hook and a few clever lines to build a feel good summer track all about living your best life. Teed has quickly built a name for himself coming off his debut “Whatcha Thinkin’” EP, having received several editorial playlist adds on Apple & Amazon Music – totaling over 160k digital streams for the record – on top of radio adds for all 3 singles, including regular spins on Sirius XM.

“You know, it’s funny, I didn’t set out to write a song about McConaughey but that’s kind of what it became because I tried to infuse a lot of his ethos into the vibe of the song. I just think he has an incredible outlook on life and an awesome way of keeping everything very even keel and grounded. So I was sitting there during lockdowns last year and had just watched Dazed & Confused for the umpteenth time in my life when I got this incredible burst of inspiration to get this idea down – really just focusing on living your life to the fullest. Huge shoutout to the band & my producer Shawn Moore on this one – I think it’s a fantastic way to kick off the Restless project and I couldn’t be more excited to hear ya’ll singing this one at some live shows this year!” – Matt Teed

His new “Restless” EP project has been teased as an enticing change of pace for Teed as he continues to show new range as an artist and build his credentials as a songwriter, evidenced by his inclusion as a co-writer on 4x CMAO Award Nominee Nicole Rayy’s hit single, “Feels Like Yesterday”.

“Alright Alright Alright” is the first single from the new EP and we know you are going to LOVE it!
