Ty Wilson

Ty Wilson is an alt-country troubadour who seamlessly blends traditional and modern elements, with a soulful voice and an authentic storytelling style to create powerful and resonant music. The Peterborough, Ontario native (northeast of Toronto) is coming off two #1 Canadian Indie Country Countdown singles, “Pair of Hearts” (2023) and “Another Day, Another Pour” (2022).

“The Last Sip” (2024) is an emotionally charged reflection on the night leading to his last drink of alcohol and is influenced by southern songwriting juggernauts like Chris Stapleton and Steve Earle. Produced by Shawn Moore, the Country Music Association Ontario’s Record Producer of the Year (2024), it showcases Wilson’s range and versatility, moments of soft reflection, big hooks, and a powerful chorus. “We’re seeing a welcome shift towards the normalization of sobriety right now, and I want people to know that they aren’t alone if they’re struggling,” says the now-sober, Wilson. “This song is my most vulnerable yet and It’s a bit scary to put it out there, but now is the time.”

Wilson grew up in small town Ontario (Keene) with deep musical roots in the Peterborough area. His Great Grandmother (Vera Keating) holds a star on the Peterborough “Walk of Fame” for her accomplishments in fiddling. His Grandmother (Jaqueline Coburn) had her own TV Show on local cable and opened for legendary artists such as Johnny Cash and Marty Stuart. Keeping with this tradition, Wilson has always had an affinity for music. He picked up a guitar for the first time at the age of 10 and started to write songs at 12-years-old.

AM to FM Promotions is thrilled to be working Ty Wilson to Canadian Country Radio.
